The gaiters have outer (3) and rear (8) sections made from leather or other strong and supple material, with collars (2) at the top, positioning lugs in the centre of the rear sections to prevent them from rotating, and front fastenings. The sections (3, 8) of the gaiters are joined together by zigzag seams covered by stitched reinforcing strips (4), while the collars are made from cores of soft rubber covered by supple leather. The centering lug is of rubber and located between the rear section and an inner lining of black foam rubber or other supple material. The fastenings can have adjustable buckles and safety flaps or 'Velcro' (RTM) strips.
