<p>A heavy load radial tire which comprises: a carcass including a carcass ply having cords arranged obliquely at 70 to 90 degrees relative to a tire equator and folded portions, which are folded at bead cores from inside in a tire axial direction toward outside in the tire axial direction to extend radially outwardly and are integrally provided on a body extending up to the bead cores of the bead from a tread portion through side wall portions; and bead apexes extending radially outwardly of a tire from the bead cores between the body and the folded portions of the carcass ply. The folded portions comprise parallel portions which extend radially outwardly along outer side surfaces of the bead apexes in the tire axial direction and extend from outer ends of the bead apexes in a radial direction of the tire to approach the body of the carcass ply in parallel thereto. A length (L) of the parallel portions is preset to be 1.0 to 8.0 times the maximum width (CW) of a cross section of the bead cores.</p>
