The plant has a heat exchanger connected to a heat pump circuit, a medium tank, and a pipe system for heat transmission and absorption. The pipe system (3) is connected to the medium tank (2) on feed and return sides. The heat exchanger (1) is connected to the tank in such a way, that vapourized heat transfer medium from the heat exchanger can enter a steam chamber in the tank. Downpipes (5) are positioned between pipe system and tank, so that condensed heat transfer medium flows by gravity from the pipe system, in the case of heat transfer from heat generator to pipe system; or flows from the tank into the pipe system, in the case of heat transfer from pipe system to cold generator.
