A blast heater stove grating consists of a cast iron material which exhibits (i) linear expansion properties and no significant structural changes in the 20-600 deg C range; (ii) a strength (DIN 50 109) of greater than 240 MPa at 600 deg C; and (iii) either a bainite-free structure containing vermicular graphite or a pearlitic-ledeburitic structure containing lamellar graphite and containing 1.8-3.2 wt.% total of 0.6-1.0 wt.% Cr, 0.8-1.5 wt.% Ni and 0.4-0.7 wt.% Mo.
