In the filter, liquid or gas flows through two or more surfaces in stacked or adjacent arrangement. The surfaces exert mutual electrostatic influence, under the effect of their electrostatic charge separation. Preferably, surface forms are matched to field distribution and are covered with non-conductor capable of polarisation. They are covered by a part-conducting substance. They are covered by a non-conductor charged to differing potentials. The substance has various polarisation characteristics affecting the field.
