The metal sandwich plate comprises two sheets (3) of metal separated by a series of parallel spring-like projections (1) arranged in overlapping rows. Each metal mesh projection is soldered, welded or glued at the apex (2) of a V-shaped section, which then extends along the centre line between the two plates, before describing an inverse V-section attached at another point to the second plate.
