This invention is for a saddle assembly to support a rider on a bicycle or a motorcycle and in its most basic form comprises a base and a bladder wherein the bladder in a first unloaded but inflated state is adapted to assume a first shape which has a lower surface part only of which is touching supporting surfaces of said base and a second loaded state when a rider sits on the bladder where the bladder will be distorted in a way to have more of the underneath surface supported by the base. One way of accomplishing this is for the base to have a plurality of cavities or apertures into which or through which the bladder can protrude to when under the loaded state. In this way the bladder does not protrude upwards into the perineum region of the rider and provides a more comfortable ride.
