The cartridge base (1) has a casing (2) of combustible material. It comprises a metal baseplate (3), from whose edge an integral axial supporting ring (4) protrudes. An elastomer obturation ring (6) is mounted on the end of the supporting ring towards the missile. The height (H1) for which the supporting ring (4) protrudes above the baseplate is less than twice the thickness (D) of the baseplate, and can be equal to the height (HO) for which the mounting for the igniter screw (5) protrudes. At the end furthest from the baseplate the supporting ring can contain a peripheral groove (7), in which the obturation ring (6) is fixed.
