The extrusion, produced in one piece and cut to the required length, is made with a seal lip (4) of varying cross-section depending on its position along the extrusion. When used, for instance, in a motor vehicle moving window surround, the lip has a different profile at the top of the window to the sides. The difference in the shape of the seal lip is produces by cutting it after extrusion with the aid of a cutting tool, either before or after vulcanisation.
