A metering assembly for use in a toner dispensing device (10) is described and which includes a housing (11) having intake (12) and exhaust ends (13) and defining a cavity (20) therebetween; a porous member (50) positioned in the cavity and disposed intermediate the intake and exhaust ends of the housing; and a vibration inducing assembly (90) disposed in vibration transmitting relation relative to the porous member to impart vibrational movement to the porous member.
