Epoxy or hybrid coating powders, essentially comprising (i) compounds with more than one 1,2-epoxide group and a melting point /- 50 deg C, or 1,2-epoxide compounds and polymers with carboxyl groups, and (ii) 6-25 wt.% (based on binder) of a hardener comprising a reaction product of (a) di- isocyanate adduct(s) of formula: (A1) and/or (A2) with (b) diols of formula: HO-R<1>-OH (B); at the rate of one OH equiv. per 3-5 NCO equivs. in (A), at least 50 wt.% of the NCO groups being blocked with (c) cyclic amidines of formula: (C) (where: n = 1-3; R = isophoronediyl (R), -Cyc-CH2-Cyc- or -(CH2)6- (with Cyc = 1,4-cyclohexylene), <= 40 wt.% of the R groups being derived from hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI);R<1> = 2-14C alkylene, optionally substituted with 1-4 CH3 groups; R<2> = H, 1-6C alkyl, phenyl or alkyl- substituted phenyl; R<3> = H or 1-6C alkyl.)
