The invention relates to an electric drive with magnetic bearings, comprising an electric machine with magnetic bearings, said machine having windings built into the stator or rotor for producing the torque and the carrying force, and an analog or digital electronics unit for actuating, regulating, monitoring and supplying said machine. The inventive machine with magnetic bearings is provided with windings (24, 25, 26, 27) in the stator or rotor, said windings being used to produce the carrying force and the torque when supplied correspondingly by the electronics unit.
