An injection moulded plastic component (2) has a projecting integral rivet (1) to allow it to be joined to another component. The rivet (1) has a fixing head (5) and is made in a first injection moulding process in a separate mould. It is joined to the component (2) in a second injection moulding process that firmly attaches the head (5) to the component.
