A cable with conductors (1) and a conducting sheath 93) running parallel to the conductors has the sheath comprising textile material made of fibres (5) whose outer surface is covered with a cohesive metal layer. The sheath surrounds one or more conductors. The fibres are synthetic ones and consist of polyamide. The textile material is a fleece. The fibres are approximately isotropically metal-coated. The metal coating consists of copper and/or silver and/or tin. It is in electrical contact with one or more parallel continuous or multiple auxiliary conductors. The cable is a power cable. The sheath is a conducting layer on the surface of insulation (2).
