The arrangement includes a start module (2) which is allocated to the radio telephone (1). The module monitors the stand-by state of the radio telephone and activates the radio telephone when necessary. Preferably, the start module includes a time switch (10) and a self-monitoring unit (11) which monitors the electronic components. The start module can be remote controlled. The time switch switches on and off the radio telephone in defined time intervals even if no external event is provided.
