The fishing reel (6) comprises a reel support shaft (5) held in a reel casing (1). The shaft carries a front hub (7) having a coaxial front cylindrical shaft (9) connected by a shoulder (10) to a rear coaxial skirt (11). A line store (12) is engaged and locked by an axial hole (16) on the front shaft. The line store comprises a solid convex front wall (17) sealing the axial hole at the front. The line store convex wall constitutes a smooth front face (18) on which the line cannot be gripped.
