PURPOSE:To obtain a high-strength composite ceramics product excellent in thermal shock resistance by introducing slurry of platy fine particles and ceramics powder into a moisture absorptive mold and roasting this molded green body in the nonoxidative atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:(a) Slurry having <=5 poise viscosity is obtained by dispersing platy fine particles and ceramics powder in a dispersion medium. (b) A molded green body having >=55% relative density is obtained at the normal pressure by introducing this slurry into a moisture absorptive mold, holding it and discharging sludge. (c) This molded green body is sintered at normal pressure - 10kg/cm<2> in the nonoxidative atmosphere. In such a way, the aimed composite ceramics product is obtained wherein the platy faces of the dispersed platy fine particles are arranged to the same direction as the outer faces of the ceramics product and relative density is 85% or more. When the platy fine particles are mixed at 30vol.% or more, the flexural strength of the roasted ceramics is lowered and therefore these are preferably mixed at 30vol.% or below. |
