PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head small in nonlinear magnetizing transition point shift (NLTS), superior in recording capacity in a high-frequency band, and excellent in reproducing efficiency. SOLUTION: The face oppositely facing the gap of the core 17 is provided with a second metallic magnetic film 19 of an FeMN base (M is at least one kind of element selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta and Cr, and N is nitrogen). In addition, the face oppositely facing the gap of the core 16 is provided with a first metallic magnetic film 18 of an FeMN base (M is at least one kind of element selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta and Cr) that is higher in saturation magnetic flux density than the metallic magnetic film 19. These two cores 16, 17 are abutted on each other through a nonmagnetic substance 20 and joined by junction glass 21. |
