PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a drum assembly whose drum section is larger than a semicylindrical shape and which is provided with a drum surface material by forming a fluid bearing between the drum surface material and a mandrel and moving the drum surface material fitted on a drum member, with respect to the mandrel, in an axial direction. SOLUTION: The drum surface material 16 is wound on the periphery of the mandrel 70. Upper parts 34 and 36 are fitted to the drum surface material 16 and a drum main part 28. When an epoxy adhesive covering the land of the drum main part 28 comes into contact with the drum surface material 16, the upper parts 34 and 36 of a drum 14 are fitted. High pressure air is supplied by a pressurized air source 41, to form the air bearing (fluid bearing), in the gap between the surface material 16 and the mandrel 70. The complete drum assembly is moved in parallel with the shaft of the mandrel 70, until this mandrel 70 is completely removed, to be separated from the mandrel 70. |
