PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unnecessitate the heater used for heating at the time of removing a coating by removing the coating of an optical coated fiber with a small coating removing force. SOLUTION: This device is composed of a relatively movable fiber holder 11 and a coating removing part 12. The coating removing part 12 is composed of the openable and closable upper side grasping part 16 and lower side grasping part 17 and fixed blade edges 19, 20 are fixed to each of them. Movable blade edge holders 21, 22 are movably provided in each of the upper grasping part 16 and lower grasping part 17, and movable blade edges 24, 25 are fixed to each of them. Stoppers 27 are provided. When the coating removing part 12 is pulled rightward, first fixed blade edges 19, 20 are slid rightward (at this time, movable glade edges 24, 25 are not moved) to peel and remove one part of the coating from the optical fiber, fixed blade edges 19, 20 and movable blade edges 24, 25 are simultaneously slid rightward after movable blade edges 24, 25 abut to stoppers 27, and then the coating is peeled and removed with movable blade edges 24, 25 as well. Since the coating to be removed is divided into short parts and gradually peeled and removed, the pulling force pulling the coating removing part 12 is all right with a small one. |
