PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure weight reduction and heat insulation by providing an inorganic foam body layer having a specified bulk density, and foaming and hardening a hardening inorganic composition composed of a hardening inorganic composition, a hardening agent and an inorganic filler to obtain the inorganic foam body. SOLUTION: This roof tile is provided with an inorganic foam body layer having bulk density of 0.2-1 kg/cm<3> , and the average thickness of the cell wall between cells is 0.05-5 mm. The inorganic foam body is obtained by foaming and hardening a foam inorganic composition composed of amorphous alumina- silicate powder, silicate of alkali metal, or hydroxide, water and a foaming agent. Further this manufacturing method includes a first process of forming slurry where a foam inorganic composition is mixed and a second process of heating a form block to foam and harden the foam inorganic composition. A skin layer is provided on the surface of the inorganic foam layer, and the thickness of the skin layer is 0.5-2 mm. Thus, good mechanical strength is obtained, and both weight reduction and heat insulation characteristics are provided. |
