PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance recognition accuracy to an indistinct character by taking the range of recognition candidates wide by specifying that an inputted character is an incorrect character and also, adding lower candidates which are not adopted in the range of normal recognition candidates. SOLUTION: A character is inputted to a character input area of a liquid crystal tablet 10. Next, if a recognition start button is pressed, information such as the shape of an inputted character is sent to a recognizing part 40, and character recognition is carried out, referring to a recognition dictionary 50. When the character recognition is finished, the recognition candidate is sent together with information of a recognition order of the character to a recognition candidate generating part 30. Next, when an indistinct character specification button is pressed, the range of a recognition candidate is further expanded, lower candidates which are not adopted in the range of a normal recognition candidate are included in recognition candidates, and a final recognition candidate is produced and shown on a recognition candidate displaying part. The 1st candidate is also shown in a character display area, determination processing is performed and character recognition processing is finished. |
