PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain power management with excellent balance between usability and power saving by increasing the operation frequency of CPU when the prescribed action of a device in a computer system, which occurs without an interval being more than the first prescribed time, is continued for more than the second prescribed time. SOLUTION: CPU 1 is provided with few data to be processed in a normal state so that a proportion for asserting an STPCLK# signal 31 is increased in a support circuit 2(7) in order to save power. The STPCLK# signal 31 is inputted to a control circuit 13. The control circuit 13 monitors the bus cycle of a PCI bus 5 and a DASP# signal 35 which is outputted by an HDD controller 15. When it becomes clear that an event to be executed correspondence occurs by the result of the monitoring, an STPCLK2# signal 33 obtained by correcting the STPCLK# signal 31 from the support circuit 2(7) is inputted to CPU 1.
