PRODUCTION OF POLYESTER SUPPORTER FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTING PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject supporter that can develop the excellent adhesion to the photographic image-forming layer by coating white polyester film having specific physical properties with a coating solution containing specific components and drying the coated film. SOLUTION: (A) A coating solution containing (i) a water-based polyurethane and (ii) a water-based epoxy group-bearing organic compound at a ratio of 10/90-80/20 on the dry basis is coated on (B) at least one face of a white polyester film with a opacity degree of >=0.3 and the b value of <2.0 and dried to give the objective supporter. The component A is included in the dried coated layer more than 60% based on the total weight of the components (i) and (ii) on the dry basis. The component B contains a white pigment and has an apparent density of 0.6-1.2 g/cm<3> containing a number of fine closed cells whereby the objective supporter for photographic printing paper having good adhesion to the photographic image-forming layer can be readily provided.
