PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain phenol decomposing bacteria belonging to genus Pseudomonas having high affinity to phenols by manifesting affinity value Ks to phenol below than the predetermined value, suitable for processing of phenol in a continuous system, enhancing the biological processing ability of the plant waste water. SOLUTION: The bacteria belongs to genus Pseudomonas such as Pseudomonas sp-E6 strain (FERM P-16252), etc., having affinity value Ks to phenols below 0.2μM. The waste water containing phenolic compounds is continuously processed, preferably, by adding this phenol decomposing bacteria to the waste water. |
