PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toll collecting system which can easily judge from the side of an on-vehicle instrument whether the on-vehicle instrument normally functions or not. SOLUTION: In a toll collecting system which consists of an on-vehicle instrument 3 mounted on a vehicle 2 running and a charge processing device 6 which is installed on the ground, executes a radio communication with the on-vehicle instrument 3 and executes transfer of necessary information, a test signal is transmitted to the charge processing device 6 and, when the charge processing device 6 receives this test signal by way of a checking antenna 4, it transmits a response signal to the on-vehicle instrument 3 by way of the checking antenna 4; when the on-vehicle instrument 3 receives this response signal, it executes a sound guidance to a user in the vehicle 2 that the onvehicle instrument 3 is normal and when the response signal is not received, the on-vehicle instrument 3 executes a sound guidance to the user in the vehicle 2 that the on-vehicle instrument 3 concerned does not normally function. |
