PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multi-color liquid crystal display device which has low power consumption, high light transmission efficiency and high luminance by providing the plate patterned with chromatic light releasing phosphor pixels and a thermoelectron releasing source generating chromatic lights while supplying energy particles to the phosphor pixels and using this back light jointly with a color liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: A phospher back light assembly patterned with multi-color light emissions 110 is provided with a wide area electron releasing source and a light emittingly patterned phosphor pixels. The wide area electron releasing source is a planar diamond electric field releasing device, in which plural diamond film patches 420 are brought into contact with metallic layers 410 on a glass cathode 400. Then, when an electric field is impressed on both ends of the electric field releasing diode device, electrons are released from the diamond patches 420 to strike the phosphor pixels and the patterned phosphor pixels 310, 320 arranged in the upward direction of the diamond film patches 420 on an ITO substrate 450 and a glass anode 460 release red or green lights. |
