PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the new temperature sensitive liquid crystal light modulating element and the automatic temperature control system used it automatically executing a light modulating operation in accordance with the variation of temperature. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal light modulating element 39 is composed by pinching a high polymer distributed liquid crystal 37 between a pair of glass substrates 31, 31 provided a transparent electrode 33. When respective solubility parameters of an oligomer material and monomer material forming a high polymer matrix 35 are described with (SP) olig, (SP) mono and the solubility parameter of a liquid crystal material is described with (SP) LC, the high polymer distributed liquid crystal 37 is composed of respective materials satisfying the relation of (SP) olig > (SP) LC + 2 or (SP) olig < (SP) LC - 2...(1) and moreover satisfying the relation of (SP) mono > (SP) LC + 2 or (SP) mono < (SP) LC - 2...(2). |
