PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair cosmetic which can prevent damages, e.g. dryness of hair and change of hair color, and give gloss and soflness to hair. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic is obtained by mixing (A) anα-hydroxy carboxylic acid or its salt and (B) plants selected from sesame, rosemary, sage, camomile, clove, thyme, turmeric, green onion, celery, licorice, blueberry, scutellaria, mulberry, phellodendron, coptis, rose fruit, henna, moutan and hamamelis, their extracts or pressed products.
