PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the surface of a recording medium from being damaged by collision between a floating optical head loaded with a solid immersion lens and a recording medium. SOLUTION: An optical magnetic recording medium 400 is successively provided with a reflection layer 55, first dielectric layer 54, recording layer 53, and second dielectric layer 52 on the substrate 56, with a recording or reproducing light beam emitted from the second dielectric layer 52 side. On the dielectric layer 52, a diamond-like carbon layer 51 is formed which has self-lubricity. The optical head is constituted of a floating slider to which a solid immersion lens is attached. A protective lens with self-lubricity can also be formed on the face oppositely facing the optical recording medium on the bottom of the slider. With the optical head changing in its floating position and coming into contact with the surface of the optical recording medium, the optical head skids on the surface, reducing the possibility of scratches from sliding. |
