<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage of a magnetic head by providing a tape guide device in which a leader tape is provided at a forwarding end of a magnetic tape, forwarding a magnetic tape to the second reel, and passing the leader tape around the magnetic head without coming into contact with the magnetic head. SOLUTION: A magnetic tape driving device 10 is provided with a tape guide device. The tape guide device is provided to select either of a magnetic head 24 and a dummy head to a tape forwarding path by a set switch. The leader tape 15 can be made pass through at the magnetic head side without coming into contact with the magnetic head 24 by setting a dummy head to a tape forwarding path at the time of forwarding the leader tape 15. The tape guide device sets the magnetic head 24 by the switch to a tape forwarding path at the time of forwarding a magnetic tape 12 after forwarding the leader tape 15, and forwards the magnetic tape 12 so as to be in contact with the magnetic head 24.</p> |
