PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate whether a current read state is readable or not before a read operation and to display by discriminating whether a code label is readable at the time of arranging optionally the positions of the code label and a code reader and displaying externally the information without data output. SOLUTION: This read state confirming device is provided with a discriminating means 1 and a displaying means 2. The means 1 consists of a reading part 11, a storing part 12 and a comparison deciding part 13. A start switch 6 is turned ON and and light is projected from a light source 3 to a bar code reader 8. In the case of a readable state, a read signal from the part 11 is outputted to the part 13 and here, it is decided whether the signal is good or bad. As a result, when it is decided as good, green is turned on on display LED of the means 2. Then, when an operator visually confirms it and turns ON a read switch 7, a read signal is outputted from the part 11. This surely confirms the propriety of reading even when the reader 8 is away from a code label. |
