PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve measurement accuracy by eliminating a troublesome operation. SOLUTION: When measuring is executed, a vessel 12 is filled with concrete C. A sealing cover 14 is attached to the vessel 12 and water is injected to a space in the upper side of the concrete C from an injection hole 16. When the space is filled with the water, the injection hole 16 and an opening valve 20 are closed. A weight W' before the injection of the water and the weight W after the injection are measured. Relationships of WC=(W0 +W1 )W', WW=W-W' and VC=(V0 +V1 )-(volume of injected water) are satisfied with the proviso that a volume value of the concrete is designated by VC, a weight value thereof by WC and a weight value of the injected water by WW. The volume of the water is represented by WW/ρt with the proviso that the specific gravity of the water is designated byρT. The volume value of the concrete VC is represented by (V0 +V1 )-WW/ρT. As the values of V0 , V1 are already known and WW is obtained by measuring the weight, the volume value VC can be obtained. When the volume value VC and weight value WC are obtained, a mass of a unit volume can be obtained by dividing the weight value WC by the volume value VC.
