PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost and to make the precision of rotor position detection higher without lowering the output and the characteristics of the motor, compared with motors having the same dimensions by simplifying the structure of the motor and its assembling process. SOLUTION: A motor for example, a stepping motor is composed of a rotor 3 having rotor cores 6a, 6b, and a stator 2 by winding a winding 4 on a stator core 4 for forming a rotating magnetic field, and a cylindrical recess 11 having a diameter smaller than the outside diameter of the rotor 3 is formed on the end surface of the rotor core 6a. Along with it, a rugged part 12 is formed on the inner peripheral side surface of this recess 11, and sensors 13a, 13b for detecting magnetic or geometric changes produced by the rugged part 12 are arranged on the stationary side, facing the rugged part. The position of the rotor 3 is detected by the magnetic or geometric changes of the rugged part 12, by these sensors 13a, 13b. |
