PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safe liquid agent for contact lenses having a washing effect and high viscosity stability by incorporating a specific ratio of a buffer and thickener into the liquid agent and providing the liquid agent with a value of a specific viscosity. SOLUTION: The thickener to be ordinarily used is usable for the adjustment of the viscosity of the liquid agent for the contact lenses. However, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyvinyl alcohol, etc., are preferable. The viscosity is in a range from 5 to 50 cps at 20 deg.C, preferably 8 to 25 cps, more preferably 10 to 20 cps. There is a problem in the ease of rubbing and ease of rinsing in contact lens washing if the viscosity is below 5 cps or higher than 50 cps and such range is inadequate. The buffer is preferably a boric acid based or phosphoric acid based buffer and is more particularly preferably a boric acid based buffer in order to stably hold the viscosity. The buffer is incorporated into the liquid agent in such a manner that its content attains a concn. of 0.05 to 10 (w/v)(%), more preferably 0.1 to 2%. |
