FIELD: production of reinforced thread. SUBSTANCE: method involves winding core from feeding coil; tightening and feeding to torsion device; fastening compacted fibrous portion to core in torsion device and winding ready thread on bobbin; feeding core at an acute angle to perforated surface of torsion device; directing core in front of pulling device through set of baffles while running the core about at least one spring-loaded baffle; deflecting reinforced thread at torsion device outlet end by baffle relative to torsion device axis so that length of upper portion of thread extending between torsion device and baffle is less than length of its lower portion extending between baffle and clamp of pair of discharge members. Method allows thread with wear-resistant cover to be produced. Such thread may be tightly and continuously wound onto bobbin.
