Fixing system, especially for joining together two sub-assemblies of a motor vehicle indicator unit, comprises a notched cylinder (300) on one of the sub-assemblies (100), and a matching chamber on the other sub-assembly (200) with teeth (420) to engage with the notches. The cylinders are in housings. Preferably at least one of the two sub-assemblies (100, 200) is made from an elastomer filled polypropylene, the filler comprising 40%. The cylinder (300) also has at least one recess in its free edge diametrically opposite a notch, and the second assembly has a lug (440) to engage with it. In addition, the cylinder has an inner channel of constant section, and one of the sub-assemblies is in two sections (110, 120) linked by thin moulded hinges and designed to receive an optical component, printed or integrated circuits, a light source or drive motor.
