Forming transparent car engine casing, starting with sized, ground and lacquered moulding pattern

The method makes a transparent casing for an experimental engine. A casing blank is made, its surface being smoothed. It is used to prepare a negative mould. A plastic which hardens, becoming transparent in the solid state, is cast in the mould. The casing is extracted for finishing.
