Container comprising a decorative label and method for producing this container

A container of thermoplastic material (1) with a non-developable external surface is fitted with a decorative label (10) consisting of at least one layer of a second thermoplastic material and a means of evacuating air through it. The label material has a melting point which is higher than the container material. Also claimed is the manufacture of a container with fitted a label comprising: (i) placing the container blank (8) inside an open mould (M); (ii) placing at least an air permeable label (10) of a higher melting point than the blank in the mould; (iii) blow moulding the blank to form the container and achieve a thermo-weld to the label; and (iv) cooling and demoulding.
