Floor group for vehicle with tunnel for exhaust system

The floor group consists of an exhaust system (5) running in a tunnel (2) in the floor (1) of the vehicle. The exhaust system has a flat wall region (8) opposite the road surface at the height of the tunnel aperture at the same level as the adjacent floor regions (3, 4). Gaps (11) are left at either side, wide enough to allow for the relative movement of the exhaust system in operation. The exhaust system is triangular in cross section in this region, or alternatively may be oval in cross section with two opposite straight sides (9, 10).
