The unit, e.g. a push-button or indicator light, consists of a tubular body (12) which fits into a hole in a partition, and can be engaged by means of a lock (24) with a base (2) made to receive an electrical element (4), and a fastener (3) which goes inside the partition. The base is fitted to the tubular body and held in place by the sliding lock (24), while the fastener (3) comprises a pivoted clamp with two anchoring branches (33, 34), connected to the base by pivoting couplings (35, 221) so that the free ends of the branches fit round the operating portion (25) of the lock. The clamp is also equipped with a locking screw (31).
