<p>A process for producing carboxylic acids, characterized by heating an ammonium carboxylate of the general formula (1) RCOO-NH4+: (wherein R is hydrogen, alkyl which may be substituted, cycloalkyl which may be substituted, aryl which may be substituted, or saturated or unsaturated heterocyclic group which may be substituted) in an ether solvent having two or more ether bonds such as ethylene glycol dimethyl ether to liberate ammonia and removing ammonia by distillation.</p> |
