<p>The locomotive (46) carries a train power unit (51), giving 1500v output approx. derived from an overhead traction supply (48,50). It comprises two sets (2,2a) of wagons (8) carrying containers or road trailers (10) with refrigerating or temperature stabilising, electrical loads (12), provided from low voltage e.g. 380v 3ph wagon distribution systems. Wagon-set LV systems are interconnected by coupling cables (44), forming a network supplied from an electronic power and control unit (30) on one wagon. Units of this type on each set receive a supply at the higher voltage through coupling cables (26), forming, with end-to-end connections (22) traversing each wagon, a higher voltage system coupled (18) to the train power unit (51) in the locomotive.</p> |
