Welding extruder for plastics using continuous plastics monofilament

This welding extruder forms a hot plasticised strand from a plastics welding monofilament. A floating screw is mounted in its cylinder (1). In the induction section, screw flights (I) intersect the welding filament. A compression and plasticisation section (III) is included. Filament drawn-in is comminuted. A supply channel (8) feeds the induction region with monofilament. In new design the comminutor is formed by an intermediate region (II) between induction (I) and compression (III), where the screw pitch exceeds that in the induction region. Within the cylinder or its lining bush (7) there is a guide groove (10) for the monofilament, extending from the supply channel and passing through the induction region into the intermediate region.
