<p>An amorphous ribbon transformer core is impregnated by application of a bonding material to at least one face exclusive of the distributed gap portion. The bonding material, having a viscosity of less than 10,000 cps fully penetrates between laminations of the core surface without leaving any residue on the lamination edges. Core rigidity is improved and distortion of magnetic properties during and after assembly is avoided. Significantly less bonding material is required to maintain the core's mechanical strength and stability.</p> |
