<p>A computer based system and method utilizing speech recognition technology for automatically providing financial information to a client without requiring a service representative and enabling a client to easily and efficiently provide information to the financial service provider. The system includes a speech processor (103) that receives a speech signal spoken by a user into a telephone (101) and identifies the term spoken by the user by comparing the received signal with a stored predefined vocabulary (112). The speech applications (130) interpret the recognized term and perform a requested financial service transaction and provide information to the user regarding this transaction via the telephone system (101), for example. In addition, the present system and method utilizes speech recognition technology to provide a security system (140) that prevents unauthorized access to a financial account.</p> |
