High pressure fuel injection pump

The high pressure injection pump has the necessary injection pressure generated by a sudden evaporation of a quantity of fuel in the pump chamber (4). The evaporation occurs via an electrical discharge which occurs between the high voltage electrode (5) and the point of the non-return valve (6) designed as a counter electrode. The fuel is conducted by the valve into the high pressure chamber and is thereby prevented from being forced back by the high injection pressure into the fuel line. The injection of the fuel into the combustion chamber occurs through the seat of the valve, shaped like an injection nozzle.
