The gondola comprises a storage spool 926) for the object and an automatically working lashing mechanism (104,105) with which the object unreeling from the coil can be fastened to the support cable. The gondola comprises at least one storage spool for a slitted and/or perforated flat endless belt 917) from which the fastening elements (10) can be separated individually. With the lashing mechanism a first fastening element can be guided around the object and the support cable, then being lashed together in positive-locking fashion. A separating device (34) is located behind the lashing device which, after the lashing, separates the lashed fastening element from the endless belt during further travel of the gondola.
