Fleece made of polypropylene, Japan paper or other hydrophobic material with soluble adhesive

A novel fleece is used to repair tears and defective areas in sheets of paper. The paper is prepared with a water-soluble binder and is joined using a hydrophobic fleece substrate. The binder is preferably a moisture-reactivated adhesive which dries with little change in dimensions. The substrate is hydrophobic, comprising a polypropylene fleece, Japan paper or other fleece or screen material.
