Fluid container e.g. for rain water

The fluid container (10) has a bottom (11) of stable shape, and flexible walls (12) fixed round the bottom. It has flotation bodies (20) consisting of air chambers or of buoyant material, fitted at roughly uniform intervals round the circumference of the container. The flotation bodies in their deployed position are at the level of the top edge of the wall, or preferably above this level. The wall may consist of alternating rigid (12a) and flexible (12b) regions. The bottom may be circular and the flotation bodies may be arranged in a rising spiral on the wall.
